Learning Brief 8: Resourcing for Integrated Area-Based Violence Prevention Interventions

This is the eighth Learning Brief in a series of Learning Briefs produced by Isandla Institute under the Safer Places: Resilient Institutions and Neighbourhoods Together (SPRINT) Project. The Learning Brief is produced from the discussions at the eighth session, hosted by Isandla Institute on 17 June 2021, focusing on ‘Resourcing for Integrated Area-Based Violence Prevention Interventions’.

The brief focuses on government funding opportunities that are available for ABVPIs, including conditional grants that can be leveraged for ABVPIs. Challenges around accessing resources, including public funding, are included. A key message of the brief is that ABVPI principles are aligned with government responsibilities, and as such public funds can and ought to be leveraged to pursue ABVPI
