Pathfinders Leadership Academy is a Mitchell's Plain based private company working with disadvantaged communities and youth. We work in conjunction with the Department of Education Safe Schools co-ordinators to provide workshops and skills development programs to learners such as anti-bullying, drug prevention and intervention, gender based violence, domestic violence, peer pressure, career guidance, cultural programs and sport.
Our goal is to give all learners and ex-learners access to work readiness programs to combat the scourge of poverty and decrease the risk of the youth being recruited for illegal activities. We have been successful in providing learners who have been suspended or expelled, with community service projects to have them reintegrated in their respective schools. As we continue to provide these programs and workshops, our vision is to provide all participants with access to nutritious meals as there is no access to feeding programs when schools close during the holiday periods. We are continually sourcing new projects and workshops for the communities through networking with other organizations offering opportunities through mentorship and skills development. Our intention is to expand our service delivery to senior citizens and learners with disabilities.
