Vision
"A world where all young people access equal opportunities, strive to realise their full potential and dare to dream..."
‘AMANDLA’ means ‘Power’ in Xhosa and Zulu, two of South Africa’s most widely spoken languages. ‘EduFootball’ describes the fusion of the two main programme themes: education and football. The name ‘AMANDLA EduFootball’ communicates the vehicle to achieve the vision of empowered youth. The aim of all its activities is to tackle social inequality through the innovative fusion of education and football.
Mission
"Creating safe spaces that bring together the power of football and learning to empower youth and change lives."
The aim of all its activities is to tackle social inequality through the innovative fusion of education and football. Using the power of football AMANDLA creates safe-hubs of development and learning for disadvantaged young people. The organisation’s holistic football-based programme model stimulates and encourages young people to strive for a better future. The strong moral concept underpinning all AMANDLA programmes reinforces universal values and norms, often lacking in destabilised and non-existent family structures.
