My motivation to join SaferSpaces:
I am a co-founder and general secretary of Project 2030 Initiative, which is a community-based NGO deep-rooted in educational development and promotion in our small town of Tubatse. The primary mandate of Project 2030 is to develop 10 medical doctors, 10 lawyers, 10 accountants, and 10 engineers by the year 2030. The initiative started in 2019, with 4 matric learners, 7 grade 11 learners, and 10 grade 10 learners who are now in grade. Last year we have achieved a 92% matric pass rate and 100% bachelor pass rate. Most of our learners got accepted into different universities in South Africa.
I am also a founder and research associate for African-Ctrl Corporate Service (Pty) Ltd, a research development private entity based in Midrand. Over the years, we have worked with multiple government entities, small NGOs, and big foundations. Our focus is mostly on educational development in rural South Africa. We did however worked with multiple NGOs with a different focus.
I'm working in these sectors:
I'm specialising in these topics:
I am a research and evaluation specialist with extensive experience in project development and management. I can develop specific programmes depending on the nature of the problem or challenge encountered in the community. Furthermore, I can set up processes and strategies to monitor and evaluate the programme when is required. I am a problem-solving, innovative, fast-thinker, most importantly, I can work well with other people, and I can go as far as saying most people can relate to in a way that they cannot with others.
I have never received any formal community safety training or anything related to that, but I am confident that my skills and expertise can add some value to this initiative. Moreover, I am willing to go through some other training.
