My motivation to join SaferSpaces:
Be in Touch is focussed on upskilling and empowering parents and teachers in their separate roles in holding the digital safety net for our tweens and teens. We’ve been gathering and compiling data, stats and trends from our work and surveys conducted with Grade 4 to 11 students, looking for practical responses to address the challenges that our youth are facing when going online. These challenges are exacerbated by the absence of parental supervision, both online and offline, and a big part of our work is about entrenching in the mind set of this generation of parents, the concept that online parenting is a key part of modern parenting. We then strive to simplify what this means and make it as easy as possible for parents to implement. Our mission is essentially to keep kids safer and saner online!
