My motivation to join SaferSpaces:

Gareth Newham joined the ISS in 2010 as head of the Justice and Violence Prevention Programme in Pretoria. Before joining the ISS, he was the strategy and policy advisor to the Gauteng Provincial Minister of Community Safety. Before that, Gareth worked in the Criminal Justice Programme at the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation. He has a Master’s degree in public and development management from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa and a post graduate diploma in applied research methodology from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
