My motivation to join SaferSpaces:

Qualified Australian lawyer with 20+ years experience in criminal justice, administration of justice, private practice and community legal practice.  Three years experience working in South Africa with Sonke Gender Justice and the sex work sector on policing issues affecting sex workers, including an extensive research report on human rights challenges experience during policing operational policing, multiple conference presentations.

Sex work research in South African through Sonke Gender Justice, in partnership with SWEAT (Sex Worker Education & Advocacy Taskforce).  Primary researcher and sole fieldworker on 2018 research report "The Policing of Sex Work in South Africa:  A research report on the human  rights challenges across two South African provinces".  From working with Sonke for nearly three years under an Australian Government professional volunteering programme, I've gained an understanding of the civilian oversight entities and have worked with varoius NGOs, government agencies/departments on rights compliant policing and sex work issues.
