My motivation to join SaferSpaces:

I am a gender-based violence activist and I am doing research to engage the private sector to participate in the elimination of gender-based violence. I work from within the discipline of strategic communication and use strategic thinking and global sustainability, among others, to frame my research.

I am a specialist in strategic communication and I can contribute to proposals to the private sector to participate in gender-based violence prevention and intervention for the benefit of all stakeholders, including employees.

Training

I have completed a programme on gender-based violence with the Foundation for Professional Development. I have conducted an extensive literature study on this topic and I have developed and facilitated workshops for student groups at the University of Johannesburg. I am a Trustee of Matla a Bana, a known NGO who campaigns against child rape and secondary abuse and have attended numerous engagements with the South African Police, Family Violence and Sexual Offense Unit.
