The South African- German Development Cooperation invites you to participate in a virtual launch of the Guides to Designing Integrated Violence Prevention Interventions developed by the South African – German Development Cooperation between 2019 and 2020 through the collective knowledge, experience and expertise of government, civil society and practitioners in South Africa. The launch will be on the 10th of December at 16h00 South African time and the aim of the guides is to support the institutionalisation, adaptation and upscaling of effective area-based violence prevention approaches.
The launch will be held under the umbrella of the World Forum on Cities and Territories of Peace, currently hosted by the Government of Ciudad de México and representing international institutions, national and regional governments, civil society organization from more than a 10 countries. The multi-stakeholder and multi-level forum highlights the importance of building coexistence and peace in cities and territories as well as the need to identify the causes of tension and violence, in order to implement public policies, programmes and citizen initiatives that help to build culture and education for peace.
The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign provides an additional layer of importance to jointly learn about and exchange on common and good practices.
The launch will be accompanied by practitioners and government representatives, with a lively engagement planned through the use of interactive online tools during the session. Simultaneous translation service between English- Spanish- English will be available for our international participants.
